Prove your prices before a regulator asks

What is PriceOrigin?

PriceOrigin is pricing-history, product-provenance, and packaging-compliance infrastructure for EU e-commerce. From one shared dataset it covers three regulations at once — the Omnibus Directive (30-day price history), the DSA (trader and product provenance), and PPWR (packaging and EPR compliance) — giving businesses, regulators, and consumers an independent audit trail for a product’s real price history, seller, and packaging.

What problem does it solve?

The Omnibus Directive, the DSA, and PPWR each demand essentially the same facts about a product — what it has really cost recently, who is actually selling it, and what it is packaged in. Most operators answer that one question three times, in three separate compliance projects. PriceOrigin provides one shared, independent record instead.

How does the 30-day price check work?

PriceOrigin records a product’s price over time and computes the true trailing 30-day low from that history, independent of whatever a marketplace itself displays. A claimed discount is then checked against that figure, so an inflated “original” price shows up as overstated rather than being taken on trust.

Which regulations does it cover?

Three EU regulations, from one dataset: the Omnibus Directive (the 30-day prior-price rule for discounts), the Digital Services Act, or DSA (trader and product traceability), and the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, or PPWR (packaging and EPR compliance). Each asks for closely related facts, which PriceOrigin records once.

Which marketplaces and countries are covered?

PriceOrigin’s marketplace coverage is recognised and expanding — added market by market as real data exists, not claimed ahead of it. It currently spans the Netherlands and Belgium (bol.com) and Germany (Amazon, MediaMarkt, OTTO, Kaufland, Zalando, Douglas).

Who is it for?

Three groups. Regulators get an independent oversight view — a market-scan dashboard, a flagged-listing queue, and evidence per case. Marketplace partners and acquirers get a diligence-ready audit trail. Consumers can look up a tracked product’s price history and flag a listing that looks wrong. Regulator access is by verified account.

How do I get access?

Request access through the form on this site — tell us what you’re evaluating, and we follow up by email. The consumer product is already live on the web, so shoppers can look up a product straight away. Regulator accounts are set up individually, after we verify your authority.
